Then as I started seeing the value of their paid offering and because I wanted them to stick around, I switched to paid. But it's the loss of potential future paying customers which will cost them alot. True - losing a free customer in itself loses the company nothing. I prefer secrets to be secret, and as i have a VPN I can just as easily just connect back home whenever I need to do something with it. So yes, it’s probably “safe enough” to expose it, and no I won’t be doing it. Economic motives kinda requires the payout to be bigger than the investment, and simply beating you with a wrench will probably yield results faster :-) Of course that requires some determination, and I doubt anybody here is a target, as the motives are mostly economic or government.
